Source of information for you
As co-sponsors of INTERPLAS, the PMMDA is consulted at an early stage on dates, costs, service requirements, etc. We are represented on the Steering Committee and the Technical Committee and members are kept informed via the Newsletter and asked for any comments they may wish to be raised.
Exhibiting PMMDA members also benefit from a reduction in stand space costs.
The PMMDA has a free advertisement in the catalogue and every member exhibiting at the exhibition has the PMMDA logo included with his entry and that of his principals, as applicable. The association gives all exhibitors a large logo for siting on their stand during the exhibition and in their reception in the intervening years.
The PMMDA through its affiliation and contacts with other associations works to achieve common aims.
Will be suppliers - agents, distributors or subsidiaries - or British manufacturers of plastics processing machinery and/or ancillary equipment, selling to the UK market and overseas. Membership is only open to UK based companies.
At least two of the following criteria must also be met before an application can be processed:
The company must have been trading for at least one and preferably two years.
The equipment offered must be well established in the UK market or in its country of origin, e.g. equipment manufactured by internationally known companies seeking to expand into the UK market.
The General Manager/Owner, who is usually the nominated representative of the company and to whom all correspondence is sent, must be well known and respected within the industry.
Contact the Committee Secretary by telephone 020 8773 8111 or fax 020 8773 0022 and ask for details. You will receive an Application Form, Synopsis of the Memorandum and Articles, list of current members and the latest Chairman's Report.
On receipt of the completed application form, it is circulated to the Committee and all the membership is notified of the application in the Newsletter, where details are given of the company's activities and the name of the nominated representative for any comments or objections.
The Committee has the right to visit any company seeking membership to establish that its operation complies with the trading practices expected of PMMDA members, eg, facilities for after sales services, spares, etc. The Committee member will not be a direct competitor and a mutually convenient appointment will be made. Should the Committee decide a visit is not necessary for any reason, then the applicant company may request a visit from a member of the Committee.
Upon ratification of the application by the Committee, the current subscription will be due and the request made for a full list of equipment supplied, with principals and trade names, as applicable, for inclusion on the PMMDA database. Certificates of Membership are presented at the AGM in the November following acceptance.
This is open to persons whom the Committee consider have rendered distinguished services to the Association or to the objects of the Association. They are not entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting.
