Student Achievement Awards

 AWARD ENTRY BRIEF

INTRODUCTION

The PMMDA represents machinery suppliers to the plastics industry and recognise that high standards of achievement during higher education will benefit the future Plastics Industry.

OBJECTIVE

This Award is set out to stimulate and encourage polymer engineering students to achieve high standards in preparation for entry into the Plastics Industry.

SCOPE OF THE AWARD

The Award will be given to student achievements during each academic year, based on course tutor recommendation.  Each nominated student must prove their commitment to their studies and present a resume of their work carried out during the year.  Multiple entries will be encouraged from each course/student year and judging will take place in May .   Students having previously won achievement awards may be re-entered for future awards.

PUBLICITY OF AWARD

The Award should be publicised to all students studying polymer related courses and students are encouraged to present their case to course  tutors and lecturers for possible recommendation.

THE AWARD

An achievement certificate and cheque to the value of £500 will be awarded to the selected winning student and presented by the President of the Association in June.

PANEL OF JUDGES

The Chairman of the Awards will be a member of the PMMDA Executive Committee and represent a machinery supply company within the Plastics Industry.   The Panel of judges will consist of invited individuals drawn from the institutes and organisations associated with the industry.

HOW TO ENTER

Course tutors should forward entry details of their recommendation to the Committee Secretary by

 29th April 2005 latest.
